Master of Divinity-Missiology and Interc

Description

The Master of Missiology and Intercultural Studies degree arose from the question, “What do field missionaries need to know to reach their target people with the gospel of Christ?” The missions faculty developed this degree based on life experience in overseas service coupled with intensive research into current missiological issues and trends. Missionaries must understand the need for language and culture acquisition, ways to penetrate the worldviews of diverse people groups, and tools for effective service. God calls missionaries, but the call to missions is a call to prepare. Eccl. 10:10 says, “If the axe is dull, and one does not sharpen it, he must use more strength; but wisdom brings success.” Seminary training is “axe-sharpening” to employ God’s strength effectively and reach a lost world for Christ. The MMICS degree sharpens the prospective missionary’s axe so that God’s Word will cut deeply into the hearts of the peoples of the nations.
